Laffor, Tau Sends Downs To Champions League Final

CAF Champions League
Result: Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 Zesco United (3-2 on aggregate)
Date: 23 September 2016
Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium
Mamelodi Sundowns secured their spot in the CAF Champions League final after securing a 3-2 aggregate win over Zesco United.
Sundowns came into the encounter, having lost the first leg 2-1 in Zambia.
The Brazilians got off to the perfect start, as Keagan Dolly's cross was cleared into the path of Laffor, who volleyed home from close range, 1-0.
The visitors looked to hit back and they went close after 17 minutes when Jackson Mwanza rattled the crossbar with Denis Onyango well-beaten.
Khama Billiat was proving to be lively in the final third, as he had a couple effort fly narrowly wide of the upright in the opening 25 minutes.
The Brazilians were presented with a golden chance to extend their lead after 30 minutes, but Zesco goalkeeper Banda produced a fine save to deny Dolly form close range.
Zesco, however, were no pushovers and looked very threatening with their pacy front-line, most notably Mwanza.
The likes of Billiat and Dolly continued to threaten in the opening stages of the second half, but chances were hard to come by.
Sundowns eventually doubled their advantage in the 63rd minute, as Percy Tau powered home a header from close range to make it 2-0 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate.
Pitso Mosimane was content with the score and introduced Teko Modise after 78 minutes as they aimed to keep control of the ball.
Sundowns suffered a blow in the closing stages when Tiyani Mabunda was stretchered off, but they managed to see off a late surge from Zesco and booked their spot in the final.
Here's how they lined up:

Mamelodi Sundowns: Onyango, Mbekile, Arendse, Nthethe, Langerman, Kekana, Mabunda, Dolly, Tau, Billiat, Laffor.

Zesco United:  Banda, Silwimba, Banh, Owino, Oluwafeni, Mwelwa, Mtonga, Chaila, Ching'andu, Mwzana, Were.
