Result: Horoya 2-2 Mamelodi Sundowns

Venue: Stade du 28 Septembre
Mamelodi Sundowns remain winless in the CAF Champions League group stages after playing to a 2-2 draw with Horoya on Tuesday evening.
The Brazilians came into the Group C clash looking for their first win at this stage of the 2017/18 campaign after opening the group with a 1-1 draw against holders Wydad Casablanca.
The first threatening attack for the Brazilians this week was initiated by Gaston Sirino in the fifth minute with a through ball to Khama Billiat but the Zimbabwean forward could not find the target inside the box.
Pitso Mosimane’s charges were struggling to keep the ball rolling on the ground due to a bumpy pitch at the Stade du 28 Septembre.
Horoya nearly opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a glancing header from Daouda Camara’s that was turned away by Masandawana goalkeeper Brimah Razak.
The hosts were bossing the game towards half an hour, holding the Brazilians in their own half and threatening to break the deadlock.
Victor Zvunka’s troops had the better opportunities in front of goal in the closing minutes of the half but could not find the back of the net before the break.
Horoya broke the deadlock five minutes after the restart through Ocansey Mandela, who connected well with a square ball inside the box to beat a helpless Razak with a sweeping finish.
Billiat had a great opportunity to level the score for the Brazilians two minutes before the hour mark after going through clear on goal, but he fired over the bar.
The Zimbabwean made up for his earlier miss by equalising for Masandawana 20 minutes before time with a composed finish from six yards out after being teed up by Percy Tau.
Sundowns were then awarded a penalty in the 77th minute after Horoya goalkeeper Khadim N’dDiaye brought down Billiat, with Gaston Sirino stepping up and coolly converting the spot-kick.
However, Aboubacar Camara restored parity for the hosts seven minutes before time with a powerful header inside the box, 2-2.
In the end, neither side could find a winning goal as Sundowns are yet to register a win in Group C.
