Admired football administrator Natasha Tsichlas, who serves in the South African Football Association’s Technical Committee as the Chairperson, is representing Mzansi at the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana, following her latest achievement in continental football.
Tsichlas has been appointed to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) committee as the member of the Organising Committee for Women’s Football.
“I will try my best to run a professional and successful competition. I am very thankful to Caf and the president of Caf, Ahmad Ahmad for the trust and responsibility that they put in me. I am very proud as a South African to be chosen, and of course, I am hoping that with so many women at Caf, I can pass on some of my experience and of course gain some experience from them also,” Tsichlas told the Siya crew.
“Women’s soccer is growing in Africa and we want to make sure that this tournament is a testimony to that. I am also encouraged by Banyana’s performance and I am obviously a big supporter of Banyana, but I am also a supporter of a wonderful and successful tournament,” she added.
Banyana beat Nigeria 1-0 in their AWCON opener in Ghana on Sunday evening.
