Banyana & Starlet Make CAF’s Top Three
Banyana & Thembi Kgatlana Are A Step Close To CAF Awards
There could be cause for cause for double celebration at this year’s CAF Awards, with Banyana Banyana and Thembi Kgatlana both into the final three of their categories.
South Africa’s female team became COSAFA Cup champions back in September and will be hoping to add to their list of achievements at the award ceremony next month when they go up against Nigeria’s U20s and Ghana’s U20s for the gong.
Meanwhile, Thembi Kgatlana could scoop a trophy of her own after making it into the final three CAF Women’s Player of the Year award. She won Player of the Tournament at the COSAFA Cup after a stellar showing in the competition.
The 21-year-old will be battling it out with Asisat Oshoala (Nigeria & Dalian Quanjian) and Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene (Cameroon & CSKA Moscow) for the crown as Africa’s best female player for 2017.
The ceremony will take place on January 4th in Accra, Ghana.
