Banyana Banyana Up For Three CAF Awards

Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis and two of her stars have been nominated for CAF awards, while the team is also in contention for the Team of the Year award.
Banyana made history on Tuesday evening as they secured a spot at their first ever FIFA Women's World Cup after defeating Zambia 2-0 in the Africa Women's Cup of Nations semi-final.
Ellis has been nominated for the CAF Women's coach of the year award after her impressive spell in charge of the national side.
Thembi Kgatlana and Janine Van Wyk have both been included in the 15 nominees for the Women's Africa Player of the Year award.
The final award sees Banyana nominated for the Women's national team of the year alongside Cameroon, Ghana, Mali and Nigeria.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on 8 January 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.
