The SA Star Poised For A Bafana Return…
Stuart Baxter will name his latest Bafana Bafana squad shortly, and it is thought that a European-based star could be set for a return to face Nigeria.
Thulani Serero, who was banned by the South African Football Association earlier this year, could be part of Baxter’s squad when it is named next week, bringing to an end almost a year of absence.
‘Cream’ reportedly refused to honour a national call-up unless he was guaranteed game-time at the start of 2018, a standpoint which ultimately led to SAFA deciding that he would no longer be considered at all.
Now though, it has been revealed that the 28-year-old has been in contact with people at SAFA, and it seems likely that he will be part of Baxter’s side for the crucial encounter with the Super Eagles on November 17th.
Serero has played every game for Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie this season, and with injury concerns elsewhere in the Bafana setup, the former Ajax Cape Town man could really stake a claim to not just return to the squad, but also the starting XI against Nigeria.
