Bafana Bafana head coach Molefi Ntseki has lauded the quality of South African players, following the team’s victory on Friday.
Goals from Percy Tau and Bongani Zungu helped Bafana to beat Sao Tome 2-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium to keep their chances in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers alive.
Speaking to the media in Durban after the match, Ntseki lauded Mzansi players for quality in comparison to the other African countries.
“It is important for us at times to understand the qualities of South African players. I keep on saying (that) we are different from any other country, whether it’s Lesotho whether it’s Botswana and whether it’s Zimbabwe close to us but we are different,” the coach said.
“We have got the flair; we’ve got the skill and we’ve got the creativity. If you ever profile our players properly, we need to play that game which suits the qualities that we have,” he said.
Bafana and Sao Tome are scheduled to play again on Monday in the return fixture at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in the Eastern Cape.
