Baxter Unfazed By Zambian Advantage

Stuart Baxter is unfazed about taking on Zambia in front of their home support

Bafana Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter is not fazed by taking on the host nation Zambia in the final of the four-nation tournament scheduled for tomorrow.

Bafana and Chipolopolo will square-off tomorrow after both nations saw off their opponents Angola and Zimbabwe respectively to reach the finals of the competition.

Despite the fact that the Zambians will have the home ground advantage, Baxter has emphasised that he and his charges will apply their game plan and continue playing in a 4-3-3 formation.

“We won’t be less gung-ho in tomorrow’s game. We have worked on our formation and we have done extensive work with the full-backs to ensure we attack when the moment is right,” said the English-born coach.

The Bafana mentor further stated that the whole exercise of coming to Zambia and participating in the tournament was worthwhile.

“I have the platform to bring some youngsters which is good thing for the country. This means that the squad is growing and bigger than what it was about a year ago when we played Angola in 0-0 draw.

“We have come a long way since then so it’s good that we keep this growth consistent,” added the coach.

Baxter will lead his charges against Chipolopolo tomorrow in the finals of the four nations tournament. The squad is expected back in South Africa on Sunday.
