SAFA Lining Up Messi’s Argentina For Bafana?
South Africa and Argentina International friendly to be played in Spain on the cards
The Siya crew can confirm that the South African Football Association (SAFA) is in the process of organising a friendly match for Bafana Bafana.
Sources inside the FA have confirmed that should everything go according to plan, South Africa will be one of the final matches Argentina will play ahead of their 2018 World Cup campaign in Russia.
“SAFA want Bafana Bafana to play Argentina in a friendly. The match will most probably serve a practise match for both teams, especially for Argentina who are heading off to the World Cup,” said a source.
Though nothing has been confirmed as yet Siya sources have indicated that the planned match, should it happen, will be played in Spain, where Argentina will be preparing for the international tournament before heading off to Russia for the finals.
Meanwhile, Bafana recently had a successful four nations tournament where they emerged as victors in the competition which included hosts, Zambia along with Zimbabwe and Angola. Argentina, on the other hand, come off a crushing 6-1 defeat at the hands of Spain in the past international FIFA break.
