Thursday Set For Latest Stage In Mashaba Saga
Dismissed Bafana Bafana head coach, Shakes Mashaba, could find out more about his future this week as he returns to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration.
Mashaba was released from his position as head coach of the South African national team late last year after an outburst following the win over Senegal. He contested the decision and requested that SAFA holds off on appointing his replacement as he looked to be reinstated.
That request was turned down and the matter has now been taken to the CCMA as Mashaba looks to try and get his job back citing unfair dismissal.
As SAFA try to seal the deal with SuperSport United’s Stuart Baxter, the latest CCMA hearing will get underway tomorrow, with the 66-year-old pushing for what he feels he is owed.
Claudio Bollo, his legal representative, told the Siya crew last month, “Well, it was heard for three days, until yesterday (March 9), it is now carrying on further on the 6, 7, 10 and 11 of April," Bollo confirmed.
"There has been a couple of witnesses who have testified, it is very difficult to say how far it is, but we think that in the next four days that have been allocated, we can definitely finish it."
