Shakes Rings Four Changes For Bafana

Shakes Mashaba has made four changes to his Bafana Bafana starting XI that will take to the field against Ghana in the crucial must-win final Group C match of the 2015 Orange Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea later this evening.

In goals, Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper, Brilliant Khuzwayo has been roped in to replace Jackson Mabokgwane, who started against Senegal. This is the third goalkeeper change in the tournament, with Darren Keet having played against Algeria in the opening game.

Defender Rivaldo Coetzee, who missed the battle with the Lions of Teranga due to a knee injury, comes back to slot in at central defence in place of the injured Thulani Hlatshwayo who suffered a minor concussion in the previous match. The Ajax Cape Town centre back will partner Erick Mathoho, with Anele Ngcongca at right back and Thabo Matlaba at left back.

Speedy winger, Mandla Masango, also comes into the fold to take the place of Oupa Manyisa, but Dean Furman, Andile Jali and Thuso Phala keep their places in the team. 'Mlungu' will captain the side once again.

Upfront, Tokelo Rantie and Bongani Ndulula, who partnered during Bafana's Afcon qualifying campaign, will lead the front line. 'Drogba' comes in for Bidvest Wits star midfielder, Sibusiso Vilakazi.

Bafana XI: Brilliant Khuzwayo (GK), Anele Ngcongca, Thabo Matlaba, Rivaldo Coetzee, Erick Mathoho, Dean Furman (C), Andile Jali, Mandla Masango, Thuso Phala, Tokelo Rantie, Bongani Ndulula.

The match will commence at 20:00 (SA time).
