Revealed: Why Tokelo Rantie And Co Were Dropped From Bafana Bafana Squad
Bafana Bafana head coach, Stuart Baxter named his official 25-man squad to face Burkina Faso next month, with the likes of Tokelo Rantie’s absence from the squad since being explained to the Siya crew.
Bafana will face Burkina Faso in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying encounter next month, October 07, however, will do so without the services of the likes of Rantie and Kermit Erasmus.
Rantie, Erasmus, Abbubaker Mobara, Daylon Claasen, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Dean Furman, who were all included in the Cape Verde squad, did not make their way onto the list this time.
Furman is currently facing suspension while Mphahlele is sidelined due to injury. According to a source close to the Bafana camp, Erasmus, Rantie and Mobara’s absence is due to match fitness and game-time. The source added that Erasmus is currently not playing at club level, while Rantie is out of action in Turkey due to a red card suspension.
