Oupa Manyisa’s injury is likely to affect Shakes Mashaba and his technical team at Bafana Bafana in their planning for games against Costa Rica and Honduras.
The Orlando Pirates midfielder is one of the players that have been called up for the upcoming international friendlies that are scheduled for October 8 and October 13 respectively.
Manyisa is likely to spend lengthy spells on the side-lines while working on his recovery from an ankle injury he picked up against Polokwane City.
Having been rested for national team duties in the previous games against Mauritania and Senegal respectively, Mashaba had plans to have the industrious midfielder back in the Bafana set-up for the upcoming two games.
But the Pirates captain is unlikely to recover on time for him to be part of the Bafana side that will be travelling to Central America.
Depending on the player’s progress on his recovery and Bafana plans, Mashaba could be required to replace Manyisa with another player before the team’s departure date.
