Bafana Bafana defender, Mulomowandau Mathoho, is set to miss the team’s opening game of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, owing to suspension.
Bafana’s Afternoon Training Session Cancelled
The strong Kaizer Chiefs central defender is carrying two yellow cards picked up from the qualifiers against Sudan and Nigeria respectively, during Bafana’s impressive qualifying campaign for the 2015 AFCON.
The 24-year-old was booked in the 83rd minute of the game against Sudan, while his second booking came in the 65th minute of the clash against Nigeria during the entertaining 2-2 draw in Uyo in November.
Tower, as the player is known in football circles, had a sterling game for Bafana during the 1-0 friendly win against Zambia last weekend.
The player was showered with praises from the team’s head coach, Shakes Mashaba, after the game for his impressive performance against the 2012 AFCON champions.
Mathoho’s club teammate, Reneilwe Letsholonyane is also set to miss Bafana’s opening game of the 2015 AFCON against Algeria, owing to suspension.
