The Bafana Bafana squad for the COSAFA Cup tournament has been announced by the national team’s head coach, Stuart Baxter.

Baxter has announced a preliminary squad of 34 players for the upcoming 2018 COSAFA Cup tournament.

As confirmed by the South African Football Association (SAFA), all 34 players have to be registered with COSAFA by tomorrow (Friday).

“Bafana Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter has announced a preliminary squad of 34 players for the upcoming 2018 COSAFA Cup tournament. All 34 have to be registered with COSAFA by Friday, 4 May 2018. The list will be trimmed down to 20 players that will take part in the tournament,” SAFA confirmed on their official website.

“The announcement of the final squad will be made on Thursday, 17 May 2018 – and those players must be registered with COSAFA by Sunday, 20 May. Bafana Bafana assemble for camp on Saturday, 26 May, and the tournament kicks off the next day in Polokwane. It runs until Sunday, 9 June.

Useless Cup - only players from Macufe Cup, ABC Motsepe League, National First Division should be called up for this nonsense. It's a disgrace for our player to be called for this plastic cup.

National team no longer interesting like before. I remember those days where ppl used to sacrifice their programs to watch Bafana. Today bench warmers get call up. I remember Tsotetsi Phiri doing great but it was not easy for him bcz Sizwe was doing everything to own the righ back possession. Today there are players you just see on Bafana but don't see them in their Teams line up. It kills the confidence and the healthy competition. Only one player from NFD not Gud for our development, this is plastic Cosafa why don't you give fair chance?
