Kekana: I Practiced That Strike

Hlompho Kekana has spoken of his delight after netting his wonder-goal against Cameroon on Saturday afternoon.

The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder scored with a sensational strike from within his own half to give Bafana Bafana a 2-1 lead in their Afcon qualifier against the Indomitable Lions, which ended 2-2.

Kekana has revealed that he has been practicing those long-range strikes in training, and usually missing them.

"I've been practicing that type of goal at my club for the past four months and am glad it all came together yesterday," Kekana told Safa.

"At training I would hit more than 10 such balls without success, so you can imagine the joy of that goal against such a powerhouse.

"We need to collect the remaining 9 points and nothing else; it's tough but we need to give it a final push."
