Bafana Share The Spoils With Honduras

International Friendly
Result: Honduras 1-1 Bafana Bafana
Date: 13 October 2015
Venue: Olympico Metropolitan Stadium
Bafana Bafana ended their Central America tour with a 1-1 draw against Honduras at the Olympico Metropolitan Stadium.
Shakes Mashaba's men opened the scoring after just seven minutes as Eric Mathoho headed home Jabulani Shongwe's corner at the near post for his first international  goal.
The hosts managed to level matters in the 12th minute as Andino headed home from six-yards out, after Itumeleng Khune palmed the ball into the winger's path.
Mashaba opted to change things straight after the goal and introduced Clayton Daniels for Mosa Lubesa, who looked to be struggling against Carlos Discua.
Honduras nearly went ahead in the 17th minute as Discua caused more havoc down the right flank, before picking out Castillo, who volleyed just wide of the target from 12-yards out.
Ayanda Patosi came close to restoring Bafana's lead in the 37th minute but Honduras goalkeeper, Noel Valladares, was on hand to keep out the midfielder's stinging effort from distance.
Mashaba was dealt a blow after 25 minutes when Thulani Serero picked up an injury and had to substituted. He was replaced by Sibusiso Vilakazi.
Bafana saw more of the ball as the first half drew to a close, although the decision-making in the final third was not up to par.
Honduras were threatening down the flanks and were presented with an opening 10 minutes into the second half when Andino cut in from the left, before blasting horribly wide from the edge of the box.
Khune was called upon midway through the second half to deny Honduras the go ahead goal, as the host continued to pile on the pressure.
Mashaba decided to shake things up in the midfield for the final 20 minutes, as he brought on Bongani Zungu and Dean Furman for Patosi and Kamohelo Mokotjo.
Neither side could find a winning goal in the closing stages, although Vilakazi went the closest, as he struck the upright with three minutes to go.
Here's how they line-up:
Honduras: Noel, Crisanto, Velásquez, Maynor, Oseguera, Mejía, Morazán, Martínez , Andino, Discua, Rubilio
Bafana Bafana: Itumeleng Khune, Anele Ngcongca, Rivaldo Coetzee, Erick Mathoho, Mosa Lebusa, Andile Jali, Kamohelo Mokotjo, Mandla Masango, Thulani Serero, Jabulani Shongwe, Ayanda Patosi
