FIFA Committee Confirm Bafana Replay

FIFA Have Confirmed The Replay Of Bafana v Senegal

By Soccer Laduma - Sep 15, 2017 11:23 AM

The Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions, chaired by Aleksander Čeferin, has confirmed the decision to replay South Africa’s clash with Senegal.

It was recently revealed that Senegal had been successful in their attempts to have Bafana Bafana’s 2-1 win over them nullified after the referee, Joseph Lamptey, was banned for life for ‘match manipulation’ with the governing body saying that the tie would be played again in November.

SAFA have since confirmed that they will not be appealing the decision ‘on moral and ethical grounds’, stating that they will ‘comply with the FIFA directive to replay the match’.

With that in mind, a statement was released earlier this week stating that the Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions had confirmed the decision made by the Bureau for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers who ordered the replay.

The statement said, “The committee confirmed the decision of the Bureau for FIFA World Cup™ Qualifiers, which had ordered a replay of the qualification match between South Africa and Senegal held on 12 November 2016.

"This confirmation came after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld the lifetime ban of match referee Joseph Lamptey for match manipulation, the ruling imposed by the FIFA Disciplinary and Appeal Committees. The match will be replayed during the November 2017 international window, with the exact date to be confirmed in due course.”

@hlaxduze My man first of all the Secretary General of FIFA is a Senegalese, therefore, appealing would have been a total waste of time. Secondly, this took then almost a year to come up with that decision that simply shows that they were working on something. If you can carefully look at those aspects you would agree with me when I say an appeal would have been a total waste of time. However, if we look at the bigger picture we can agree on the fact that in a long run this will be an advantage to us, considering the treatment we have been getting in these African teams when we are playing away

I have got the feeling that SAFA know the exact truth about this manipulation and FIFA is just doing them a favour by commanding a replay that is why SAFA did not challenge this decision they know that the truth might come out and be banned from international football because of match fixing.... one day this banned referee will speak out the truth and reveal that SAFA bought him to fix the match
