Former Bafana Bafana captain, Dean Furman, has expressed his disappointment at being excluded from Shakes Mashaba’s 25 man squad to play against Cameroon later this month.
The SuperSport United midfielder admitted that he’s not happy to have been left out, but did admit that he understands that he hasn’t been good enough to be named in the squad.
“I am disappointed that I am not part of the team,” he told the Siya crew at the Nedbank Cup draw.
“But I have to get my head up and work hard to go back to the team. I know my form hasn’t been up to a good standard of late.”
Despite his omission, the 27-year-old wished his former teammates the best of luck and, is certain that they can do the job and move closer towards qualification for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
“I know the coach has picked a good team and I wish them all the best during the games.
“They are important games and we need all the points from these games. They are two huge games and very important but I know the guys can do it, " he continued.
Furman has made 17 appearances for SuperSport in the PSL this season.
