Record-Breaker Keen On Bafana Job?
With the hunt for the next Bafana Bafana head coach now up and running, the Siya crew has been led to believe that a record-breaking young English coach has thrown his hat in the ring.
According to Siya sources, 38-year-old Anthony Hudson, who recently left his post as head coach of Colorado Rapids in the Major Soccer League, is one of the names been put forward as a potential replacement for Stuart Baxter.
Hudson became one of the youngest coaches to secure a UEFA Pro Licence when he acquired his in 2012, and a few years later became the young person to coach at a FIFA Confederations Cup when he qualified New Zealand to the 2017 – and final – edition in Russia.
The former All Whites and Bahrain man, who is the son of former Arsenal and England midfielder, Alan Hudson, is currently on the market after leaving the Rapids back in May, and was linked with the Newcastle United job last month before they opted to poach Sheffield Wednesday’s Steve Bruce.
It remains to be seen if Hudson will be considered for the position as the South African Football Association look at their options as Baxter’s successor, but his reputation as a young coach that was once called ‘the next Jose Mourinho’ by Harry Redknapp could potentially play in his favour.
