In a week that has seen four key players withdraw from the Bafana Bafana squad through injury, Stuart Baxter has finally been given a boost.
Finally... A Boost For Bafana
It’s been a tough few days for Stuart Baxter in Durban as he prepares the South African national team to face Libya in a crucial World Cup qualifier on Saturday, with Bongani Zungu, Hlompho Kekana, Themba Zwane and Lebo Mothiba all having to pull out of the squad due to injury.
Vincent Pule, Aubrey Modiba, Tiyani Mabunda and Mxolisi Macuphu have all since been called up as replacements for the quartet – and are all now in camp – and Baxter now has a full squad to work with going into the clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Baxter has also been handed a boost as Dean Furman and Bradley Grobler – who last week helped SuperSport United into the MTN8 final – arrived at camp with minor niggles, however, it has now been confirmed that they are both back in full training.
Bafana face Libya at 15h00 on Saturday as they look to follow up their victory over Nigeria last year with another three points in their group.
