Update As Baxter Sweats On Bafana Star
Bafana Bafana midfielder, Kamohelo Mokotjo, has just over two weeks to try and recover from an ankle injury ahead of South Africa’s crunch meeting with Nigeria.
Stuart Baxter is enduring a bit of an injury crisis with the national team at present as he prepares to name his latest squad, with the likes of Bongani Zungu, Keagan Dolly, Dean Furman, Sibusiso Vilakazi and others all ruled out due to various problems.
Now, with Bafana facing the Super Eagles on November 17th, Baxter is waiting for more information on the severity of Mokotjo’s injury after the midfield man was taken off just 30 minutes into Brentford’s game last weekend.
Thomas Frank, his head coach, has revealed that he will not play any part against Millwall this weekend, however, admitted that they don’t yet know how long he will be out for.
Frank told the media, “One thing is that Kamo Mokotjo is out. We don’t know for how long, we’ll know more in the coming days, but he’s definitely out for Saturday.”
Mokotjo has played 16 games for the Bees so far this season, and his absence is being touted as a big loss for the club as they look to get their play-off ambitions back on track.
