Bafana Climb FIFA Rankings, Again
Bafana Have Risen In The FIFA Rankings This Month
Bafana Bafana moved up one spot in the FIFA Rankings, in the month of February, and now occupies the position of 77th place in the world.
Stuart Baxter’s side ended 2017 in 81st place after failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but have steadily climbed up the table over the last couple of months despite their inactivity.
The South African national team have also risen one place in the African rankings, and are now rated as the 16th-best team in the continent.
Bafana are one of only five of Africa’s top 20 nations to have moved up at all this month, and have taken a step – albeit small – close to the top 10.
Interestingly, CAF also has both the best and worst movers in February, with Congo rising up eight spots to 88th and Egypt dropping 13 to 43rd.
