The South African men’s senior national team has been joined in camp by AmaZulu technical team members.
Bafana are finalising their preparations for this weekend’s all-important 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Burkina Faso at FNB Stadium.
AmaZulu have confirmed that their Strength and Conditioning coach, Joshua Smith, is with the Bafana camp.
“AmaZulu FC strength and conditioning coach Joshua Smith has joined the South African senior national team camp,” Usuthu stated on the club’s official website.
Smith previously also worked with Bafana current head coach Stuart Baxter in the technical team of Kaizer Chiefs, among other clubs.
“Smith was part of the South Africa technical team as the sports scientist at the 2017 COSAFA Cup in the North West Province. The experienced sports scientist also worked with Bafana players during South Africa’s 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying campaign. He has worked for Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United and Turkish side Genclerbirligi alongside current Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter.
“Smith, who is a former Durban High School student, is not the only one representing Usuthu in the Bafana camp. Newly appointed AmaZulu sports masseuse Rendani Manuku is also part of the South Africa technical team,” concluded AmaZulu.
