The Bafana Bafana squad to take part in the COSAFA Cup has been released, with the likes of Kaizer Chiefs’ Lorenzo Gordinho and Cape Town City’s Aubrey Ngoma all making the list.

The tournament will take place in Rustenburg from June 25, until July 09, however, as defending champions of the competition, Bafana will make their way straight into the quarterfinals of the campaign.

Bafana will be facing the winner of group A, either between Tanzania, Malawi, Mauritius or Angola.

As confirmed, a victory against the winners of group A will see Bafana face the winner of a clash between Botswana and Zambia.

If Bafana wins both those clashes, Head Coach Stuart Baxter’s side will qualify for the final of the competition that will take place on Sunday, July 09 July at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Baxter should have let Lebogang Phiri have a full preseason with his new team in France, its not easy to get into the team when you didn't have.much time with them.

The including of Mandla Masango and Mario Boysen in this squad is questioning,I have noting against them but I believe the are some great players who are not given these kind of opportunities when they deserve them,Mario Boysen ahead of available Chippa United Justice Chabalala. But really Baxter?,even that Bloemfontein Celtics young Right-back Mthomozisi Dube deserve a callup.

Cosafa is not for locally based players but clubs may refuse to release their stars due to the competition not on FIFA calendar, I guess that's why there's a mixture of players to test and help in their development. @The_Diski_God
