It’s been a long time since Bafana Bafana were shown this kind of love, but supporters were out in their droves on Tuesday to welcome back their heroes to South Africa.

Bafana clinched their place at the African Cup of Nations on Sunday night with a big 2-1 victory over Libya away in Tunisia, with Percy Tau doing the damage up front with a brace and Darren Keet providing some excellent rear-guard action.
Plenty of smiling faces were there to welcome Stuart Baxter and his troops back to the country after a long trip home from Sfax that included a stopover in Dubai, and the players will have been delighted to see how happy their efforts have made the country as they now turn their focus to the tournament itself.
The whole Bafana side wasn’t present at OR Tambo though, with the likes of Tau, Lebo Mothiba and the other European-based players heading straight back to Belgium, France etc. from Tunisia after the game as they look to get back to business at their clubs.
Bafana will find out their AFCON opponents on April 12 when the group stage draw takes place in Cairo.
