Bafana Bafana prepare for 2018 COSAFA Cup

Coach Stuart Baxter and his Bafana Bafana squad have assembled for camp ahead of the 2018 COSAFA Cup which will be staged in Polokwane.

Baxter named his 20-man COSAFA squad during the course of this week which the saw the likes of Mariztuburg United defender Siyanda Xulu return to the national team after a long spell out.

As one of the highest ranks national teams participating at the tournament, Baxter’s men have been given a bye in the first round meaning that they will only participate in the quarter-final stages of the COSAFA Cup. Bafana’s fixture will be against the winners of Group A on Sunday, 3 June 2018.

Meanwhile, the squad is expected to depart for the North West tomorrow following a press briefing at the South African Football Association (SAFA) headquarters; SAFA House tomorrow.

The COSAFA Cup gets underway this coming Sunday 28 May 2018 with two fixtures that will be played at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
