Bafana Player Ratings v Senegal
Soccer Laduma rates the individual performances of the Bafana Bafana players, following their 1-1 draw with Senegal.
Here are the ratings:
Jackson Mabokgwane: 6
First Africa Cup of Nations game, didn't look comfortable under the high ball but pulled off a fine save in the second half and his distribution was good.
Anele Ngcongca: 7
Ngcognca put in a solid shift down the right flank, both defensively and offensively and also put in the cross for Oupa Manyisa's goal.
Thabo Matlaba: 6
Certainly held his own against Moussa Sow down the left flank, although he did not bomb down the wing as he usually does.
Thulani Hlatshwayo: NA
Unfortunately had to be substituted in the first half.
Eric Mathoho: 6
Added some stability the Bafana defence but could have done a bit better with Senegal's equaliser.
Dean Furman: 6
A solid shift in the midfield from the Bafana captain, did well to break up attacks and tracked back well on a few occasions.
Andile Jali: 6
Continues to impress alongside Furman in midfield, although his final pass was poor on numerous occasions.
Oupa Manyisa: 7
Manyisa continues to be deployed down the left flank, but always managed to drift infield and scored a fine goal.
Thuso Phala: 5
Not the best of games from the pacey winger, struggled to get beyond his opposing fullback and was replaced in the second half.
Sibusiso Vilakazi: 6
Started off well in the first half, got himself involved in a few attacks but faded as the second half went on.
Tokelo Rantie: 6
Still managed to cause a few problems with his pace, but his decision making was poor at times.
Ayanda Gcaba: 6
Replaced Thulani Hlatshwayo in the first half and did well alongside Mathoho.
Bernard Parker: 5
Did not make much of an impact when he was introduced in the 65th for minute Phala.
Reneilwe Letsholonyane: NA
Didn't do enough to receive a rating.
