Itumeleng Khune – 6/10
Wasn’t troubled too much, and was unable to stop the opening goal after the wicked deflection off Mkhwanazi.
Thamsanqa Mkhize -5/10
Returned since last November, was absent much of the game as his crosses and his forward movements was non-existent throughout. He did look shaky when defending one-on-one.
Thulani Hlatshwayo – 6.5/10
Challenged well for every ball and never let loose of his marker, but was caught out of position at times especially from set-pieces.
Buhle Mkhwanazi – 5/10
Struggled at time with his positioning non-existent which was evident for the first goal, but he grew stronger as the game went on.
Sifiso Hlanti - 4/10
Struggled to deal with the Nigerian defenders in one-on-one defending, while his overlapping runs was missing throughout.
Hlompho Kekana – 6/10
Lost too many balls at times, but was stern in defence as he kept a good shape while made little offensive entries.
Tiyani Mabunda – 6/10
Stopped Nigeria from playing through the middle at time, although began to tire in the second half.
Themba Zwane – 6.5/10
On his return, ran hard at the Nigerians but created little clear-cut openings as he struggled to break down the defence. He did link up with Tau on a couple occasions.
Thulani Serero- 4/10
His first game in over a year, and he was in-effective going forward as he had little touches on the ball and was substituted later on.
Percy Tau – 7/10
Bafana’s best player no doubt, but was left with little support in his plight against the strong West African defenders. He showed his class by brilliantly setting up Mothiba's goal.
Lebohang Mothiba – 6/10
Aside from his goal, posed little promise to the visitors defence although he was hardly afforded a clear-cut chance in the opposition box.
Thembinkosi Lorch -5/10
Came on for Serero and had a few good touches, but was susceptible to poor ones too in dangerous areas as well.
