Bafana
Bafana Player Ratings v Algeria

Soccer Laduma rates the individual performances of the Bafana Bafana players, following their 3-1 loss to Algeria in their opening Afcon Group C clash.
Here are the ratings:
Darren Keet: 5
Not the best of nights between the sticks for Keet, made some key saves but should have done better with Algeria's final two goals.
Anele Ngcongca: 6
Started off well in the first but had to move into the center of the defence following Rivaldo Coetzee's injury.
Thabo Matlaba: 6
Started off a little nervous and was targeted by Sofiane Feghouli, but got stronger as the game went on.
Thulani Hlatshwayo: 6
Despite scoring an unfortunate own goal, Hlatshwayo was solid defensively
Rivaldo Coetzee: NA
Unfortunately Went off injured in the first half.
Dean Furman: 6
Came close to opening the scoring in the first half and was solid in the midfield.
Andile Jali: 6
Another solid showing from Jali alongside Furman and certainly held his own against the likes of Nabil Bentaleb and Medhi Lacen.
Oupa Manyisa: 6
Started off slowly and was in-effective on the flank but had a bigger influence on the game when he drifted into the center, but should have done a lot better to stop Faouzi Ghoulam from scoring the second goal.
Thusa Phala: 6
Went missing in the first half and hardly touched the ball, but he got more involved in the second and scored the opening goal.
Sibusiso Vilakazi: 6
A quiet game for the Bafana midfielder, failed to influence the game in the first half, had a bit more joy in the second half though.
Tokelo Rantie: 5
A frustrating night for Rantie, missed a penalty that could have given Bafana a two-goal advantage and missed a couple more chances.
Substitutes:
Siyabonga Nhlapho: 5
Replaced the injured Coetzee, failed to provide any attacking outlet down the flank and did not provide Manyisa with cover for Algeria's second goal.
Bongani Ndulula: NA
Was not on the field long enough to receive a rating.
Mandla Masango: NA
Was not on the field long enough to receive a rating.
