Bafana Bafana Midfielder: We Need The Whole Country
Bafana Bafana international, Lebogang Manyama, says that the national team needs the support from the country now more than ever.
Head Coach Stuart Baxter’s side will lock horns with Burkina Faso at the FNB Stadium today, October 07, in a must-win 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying encounter.
Following back-to-back losses against Cape Verde in the World Cup qualifiers, the fans in Mzansi were left disappointed with the national team, as the dream to qualify for the prestigious competition set to take place in Russia next year is slowly falling out of reach.
However, it is still mathematically possible for Bafana to qualify for the World Cup, although the national team will need to win all of their upcoming qualifying encounters and hope Cape Verde drop at least three points.
Speaking to SAFA’s official website, Manyama revealed that Bafana needs the country’s support, saying that everything will go right if the team has the fans behind them.
“We need the whole country. We know what has happened in the last two games and people have lost confidence in us but we must take the lead to bring back the confidence and everybody else will follow. We need their support. We have the quality, we have the coach and I believe we have the country that can take us where we want to go, starting on Saturday – like I always say, All for one and one for all,” he said.
“We need the whole nation, if we can have a packed stadium, whenever you touch the ball it builds confidence, and in a way everything goes right when you have fans behind you, I think we are going to need them more than ever, so come show your love for Bafana Bafana,” the Atiker Konyaspor midfielder revealed.
