All 23 players that were called up for the national team have already arrived in the country ahead of this weekend’s clash, however, neither Ronwen Williams nor Thulani Serero was able to take part in full training on Monday afternoon.

Baxter already has a host of injury problems given the absence of players such as Bongani Zungu, Keagan Dolly, Dean Furman and others, so he will have been relieved to see that Williams and Serero are not out of contention for the Super Eagles encounter.
He told the media on Monday, “We had two scares… Ronwen Williams had a slight knee strain, but after he was examined the ultrasound didn’t find any tears. It will take him 24 to 48 hours for it to settle though, so he won’t be training with us until then. We won’t be calling a third keeper though, we’ll keep Ronwen because we think he’s going to be ok.
“The second one was Thulani Serero. We didn’t receive anything from the club or Thulani, but media in Holland said that he had an ankle injury. We knew he was on the plane but didn’t know anything about his injury, so we held our breath a little bit. When he arrived he explained that he’d had a laceration and five stitches. He isn’t training today, but he should be training in full tomorrow (Tuesday).”
Meanwhile, Thami Mkhize could also be seen training separately alongside Serero at Steyn City today, though no reason was given for why he was not part of the main squad session.
