Bafana Defender’s Apology To The Nation

Bafana Bafana defender, Thamsanqa Mkhize has apologised to South Africa after the national team failed to qualify for yet another FIFA World Cup.

Bafana suffered heartbreak last week Friday, November 10, when Senegal defeated Head Coach Stuart Baxter’s side 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, sealing their qualification for the prestigious 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup.

The national team then went on to try and regain their confidence and look for a win in the final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the same Senegalese side, just short of Sadio Mane, who saw an early return to Liverpool.

Unfortunately, the encounter ended in another loss to Bafana – South Africa’s World Cup dream completely demolished.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Cape Town City and Bafana’s right back, Mkhize, apologised to the nation.

“We would like to apologise to the country. We know that we have disappointed them and we also feel their pain. They came out to support us and we are grateful for that. They must continue supporting us like they have been doing and we will get everything in order. This is a work in progress and we will get the team to greater heights,” the 29-year-old told Soccer Laduma.
