Bafana Bafana captain, Thulani ‘Tyson’ Hlatshwayo has spoken ahead of the country’s crucial clash against Libya on Saturday, adding that the team needs to work on their mentality.
Bafana pulled off an impressive 2-0 win over Nigeria last year in the opening game of the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations group E qualifiers.
Now, the South African national team will hope to continue on their dominance in the group and get a win against Libya on September 08, with Bafana captain, Tyson revealing that the team needs to keep the same mentality as they do when coming up against strong African teams.
“We knew what kind of a team Nigeria is, we have to make sure we are (on) on our game on Saturday (against Libya). We just have to make sure that we display our performances that we do with the bigger countries and I think it is a mentality that we have to work on as players. The coach gives us the same team talk as he gives us against Nigeria,” Hlatshwayo told the media.
The Bidvest Wits defender also revealed that he would like to see his former club teammate, Vincent Pule get an opportunity to showcase his talent on Saturday against Libya.
“I think this will be an opportunity for the new guys to step up and we all want to represent the country. I am hoping for the new guys, especially Vincent Pule if they can get an opportunity to display their talent,” he added.
Bafana will welcome Libya to the Moses Mabhida Stadium tomorrow, September 08.
