Good day, football lovers
On the favourites to win the league
The league title race is the toughest I’ve seen in years. That said, you have to make special mention of Eric Tinkler and his Cape Town City charges. The team is not even a season old, but they are challenging for the PSL title. Amazing! This is something that the City bosses have to be proud of. I wish them everything of the best. Still on the league title, I think Mamelodi Sundowns will win this one. They have a few games in hand and have started doing well and winning games.
On Orlando Pirates’ season thus far
Pirates have not started this season well. But with our coach, Kjell Jonevret, trying to figure out his players, the league and his opponents, it will take him some time to win any silverware. However, so far so good. He is adapting very well and, before the end of this season, he will have an idea of who to buy for the new season. All he can do now is get to the top eight and build from there for next season. I am very happy that he is getting the support he deserves from the management, the players and us, the supporters. He promises to be a real deal.
On Bafana coaching dilemma
There was a story about Stuart Baxter, but as of today, we still haven’t seen a press conference announcing the Bafana Bafana coach. The World Cup qualifiers start in June and we want to go to Russia with our team, not to go there to support other countries. It has been the case in the past, where we had to adopt countries to support in the World Cup. We don’t want to go that route again. We want to go with our boys to Russia.
On fan attendance at games
I’m happy to notice that our Supporters Club’s Vision 2017 is in full motion. I have seen some very good attendances in games, even during the Easter holidays. That is what we want to see. To see this progress, now means in a couple of months we will be at a higher level. Let us all come out and support our teams.
Until next time
