Matsatsantsa Have Nothing To Lose
This week, we hear from Soccer Laduma Supporters Club Committee Member Dejan Miladinovic on the Telkom Knockout semi-finals and on SuperSport United's second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend.
On the Telkom Knockout semi-final games
The Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs game was great. Though Chiefs lost the match, they were the better side. They really put Wits under pressure but it wasn’t to be. Only one team had to progress to the final and the Clever Boys were the deserving team on the day.
On Bidvest Wits facing Bloemfontein Celtic in the final
It is going to be an interesting final. I’m going to give this one to Bloemfontein Celtic. They are playing very well and have better chances of winning the Telkom Knockout than Wits. The Celtic coach, Veselin Jelusic, is a good coach and he’s been doing great at the club so far.
On Bafana Bafana’s failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup
Look, having to replay the Senegal match really killed us. Apart from losing both games against Cape Verde, I believe we would have done a better job and probably qualified had it not been for the rematch ordered by FIFA. The boys really gave their all and tried their best but, at the end of the day, it wasn’t to be. We played Senegal knowing it was going to be tough in both fixtures. In my opinion, Bafana Bafana really played well.
On the CAF Confederation Cup final first leg
I honestly don’t think the loss is discouraging for the boys. I mean, they managed to score an away goal and that’s an advantage. It’s tough playing against a team like TP Mazembe. They are one of the most successful teams in CAF competitions. So I think Matsatsantsa a Pitori did well, especially considering it was an away game.
On the second leg this weekend
Look, Matsatsantsa have nothing to lose, at all. They have the away goal advantage and they are playing at home. They must just put in more effort and try their best not to concede. A 1-0 scoreline should be enough to see them lift the CAF Confederation Cup trophy. Also, we urge all supporters to come out in numbers and rally behind Matsatsantsa. Regardless of the team you support, let’s unite and back SuperSport, at all costs!
