This Is Daylight Robbery!
Good day, football lovers
On Bafana Bafana’s World Cup hopes
Eish, I’m really disappointed in our national team. I mean, if you’re going to lose twice to Cape Verde, then it means there’s something wrong with us. South Africa has a population of 55 million compared to the 500 000 of Cape Verde. Imagine them being the reason for us not qualifying for the world showpiece next year. This brings me to the question: do we really love football or is it just a hobby to us as a country? This is really sad. I’m going to be honest and say I don’t see us qualifying for the upcoming World Cup. Our chances are very slim. Do you know how hard it is to be forced to adopt a country to support while you’re from a country that is as big as Mzansi? We need to go back to basics. We are seemingly using ‘word of mouth’ when it comes to our love for football. We don’t seem to really care.
On the Bafana vs. Senegal possible replay
We are being unfairly treated by football’s mother body here. How many times have similar incidents occurred and they’ve turned blind on them? I’m urging SAFA to fight tooth and nail for this. This is daylight robbery! We cannot be unfairly treated like this and keep mum. We’ve got to fight back. We mustn’t agree to replaying that game. We didn’t choose the referee and therefore we shouldn’t be held responsible for his actions. We need to keep our three points.
On the MTN8 final
This is going to be one of the toughest cup finals ever. Both teams are playing well and have experienced campaigners who will guide the youngsters throughout the game. I have a feeling that it will go to the penalty shootout and who ever converts will take it.
On the MDC
This initiative is very good for our football. The vibe at the stadiums is good too. Players are gaining match fitness quicker now that we have the MDC back.
On Supporters Club
I want to urge all Supporters Club members to come in numbers to the stadiums. Let us unite and improve the standard of football in our country. Our national team also needs us. They need our support and we must not hesitate. This is what we’re here for after all.
