He’s Going To Put Smiles On Our Faces

Hello fellow football fanatics
On the MTN8 semi- finals
This year’s MTN8 has seen upsets from the day it started. We saw both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns getting knocked out in the opening games of the competition. One would imagine that it must have been very sad for the sponsors, as it means that the crowd pullers are out. I must say, though, that the first leg encounters of the semi-finals haven’t been bad in terms of crowds. There were decent turnouts at both games and, looking at the score lines of both matches, it will be very interesting to see how the second legs of both semis turn out. That, on its own, is a crowd puller. People will be interested to see who is going to advance to the final. I wish all four teams the best of luck in the second leg of the semi-finals.
On the performance of his team
If you look at Orlando Pirates’ first two games of the 2017/18 season, you’ll agree with me when I say they have improved from last season. There’s speed. There’s eagerness to play from the players. That is what every coach wants to have in his team. I’m confident that coach Micho is going to put smiles in the Buccaneers’ faces this season. He brings with him loads of experience this time around. He has travelled the continent and he has even coached the Ugandan national team. He qualified the Cranes to the recent CAF Africa Cup of Nations. That is the coach you need to win silverware.
On the Bafana’s 2018 World Cup qualifiers
Bafana Bafana will be in Russia next year. I have a lot of faith in our coach and the boys. They have shown us what they can do when they went to Nigeria and came back with three points. If they carry that form to Cape Verde then I see no problem qualifying for the World Cup. It is most likely in our hands now. Winning these two upcoming games against Cape Verde will bring us a step closer to Russia!
On attendance at stadiums
The attendance is improving with every game. It gives me delight to see that the hard work that we put in Supporters Club is paying dividends. We are working very hard to better our football and the lives of supporters.
On Supporters club vision 2017
Like I have said before, we are very close to accomplishing our mission, which is Vision 2017. It is just a matter of time before we can say we have accomplished it. It has taken faster than any of us anticipated.
‘Til next time
