Bravo To Chiefs & Downs Supporters!

Hello, football family

On Ntate Molemela’s funeral

Dr Petrus Molemela’s death leaves a massive hole in South African football.  He was laid to rest yesterday and I must say he got a proper sending off. It was good to know that he got what he truly deserves. The man has sacrificed a lot for football and his team. May his beautiful soul rest in peace. He has run his race in South African football. Hamba kahle Ntate, uyiqhawe lamaqhawe. Sohlala sikukhumbula (Go well Ntate, you are a hero amongst heroes. We will always miss you).

On Kaizer Chiefs v Mamelodi Sundowns

Honey and sugar are regarded as the sweetest things, but let me tell you, they don’t even come closer to revenge, especially when it’s over your rivals. Sundowns have beaten us already this season, so it was about time we got one over them. This win has boosted our boys’ confidence and they can now believe again. I’m happy that our experienced players lift up their hands to be counted whenever the occasion requires them to do so.

On the attendance

It was also good to see an almost full stadium for such a game. Supporters came from all corners of Mzansi and some from our neighbouring countries. There was a great atmosphere at the stadium and one would think that the game was played during the day. FNB stadium was abuzz, thanks to all the wonderful supporters that were there. One also has to applaud both teams’ supporters for behaving so nicely and being in full voice cheering their teams. That is part of our mandate as Supporters Club, to make sure that our stadiums are filled up when our teams play. I say bravo to both Chiefs and Sundowns’ supporters.

On the favourites to win the league

The title race is still wide open. If you asked me three weeks ago who will win the league, I probably would’ve said Sundowns, but now I can tell you, Kaizer Chiefs have a very big chance of taking it. In fact, all the teams from position one to position six can still win the league. It will be up to who wants it the most and I hope that will be my team (Chiefs).

Let’s talk again next time
