We Deserve This One

Good day fellow football lovers

On the 2016/17 PSL season

Look, it was a very competitive season. The race for the championship, the fight for survival… yhoo… it really was a tough season. It was only decided in the last three games. It went down to the wire and we have to congratulate our champions. The battle to avoid relegation was also decided in the last minutes of the last games, with Highlands Park being unfortunately the ones to bite the dust in the end. Baroka FC have escaped relegation successfully after they drew their last game of the promotional play-offs, having collected more points than their NFD counterparts. These promotion play-offs must be somewhat taxing to the NFD teams. I can imagine having to fight the whole season to only have to do it all over again in the play-offs. It is what it is, though, and what can you do?

On Bafana Bafana’s future

Bafana Bafana’s future looks bright under Coach Stuart Baxter. The blending of youth and experience is what will help us not only now but in future as well. We just have to keep supporting him and the team. We have to rally behind them throughout the qualifiers. I was also impressed with the fact that he gave everybody a chance to play in the follow-up friendly against Zambia after the historic win in Nigeria.

On the Nedbank Cup final

This is a very tough competition and now that they are in the final, our players will want to win something for their fans. Winning the Nedbank Cup will also mean that the team goes to compete in the next year’s CAF Confederation Cup. For my team, Orlando Pirates, it would be a welcome return. We haven’t won anything in the last two seasons and we deserve this one as the club’s supporters. Our players have to give their all for the club in this one.

On Supporters Club Vision 2017

So far so good for our Vision 2017. We have seen a growing number in game attendance and that augurs well with our vision. Supporters Club is playing a huge role not only in the football stadiums but to the communities as well. There’s still a lot of work to be done but I am proud to say that we are on course to achieve our end goal.
