There were a number of Premier Soccer League representatives on show for the Warriors, including Billiat, George Chigova and Talent Chawapiwa.

The Zimbabweans took the lead after just five minutes courtesy of a strike from Philanthropy Kadewere.

Zimbabwe's joy was short-lived, though, as Chipolopolo leveled matters three minutes later, with Lazarous Kambole rounding George Chigova before tapping home.

After a lively opening, neither side could add to their tally for the rest of first half and the sides went into the break level at 1-1.

Four minutes into the second half, the defending champions took the lead as Kambole bagged his second goal of the game after finishing off a swift counter-attack.

Zimbabwe responded by introducing SuperSport United striker Evans Rusike for Terrence Dzvukamanja after 63 minutes.

The Warriors threw numbers forward in search of an equaliser in the final 15 minutes of the half, although Zambia remained resolute.

Zimbabwe eventually managed to level matters in the second minute of time added on as Billiat's knockdown found Kadwere, who calmly slotted into the bottom corner, forcing the clash into extra time.

Five minutes into the first-half of extra time, Zimbabwe were awarded a penalty after Billiat was brought down in the box. The Mamelodi Sundowns star stepped up and converted the penalty to hand his side the lead.

Billiat then sealed the win in 116th minute as the Sundowns forward slotted into the bottom corner after an impressive counter attack.
