Date: 19 January 2015

Venue: Estadio de Mongomo

Moussa Sow scored in stoppage time to earn Senegal a 2-1 win over Ghana in their opening Afcon group C clash.

It was the Black Stars who went ahead in the 12th minute from a calmly dispatched penalty from Andre Ayew, after Christian Atsu was brought down by Bouna Coundoul.

Atsu should have got his name on the score-sheet in the 21st minute, the winger latched onto a pass from Andre Ayew before placing an effort inches wide of the upright.

The Lions of Teranga nearly found themselves level in the 29th minute, as Kara Mbodji's header crashed off the upright.

The Senegalese got stronger as the half went on and went close in the 33rd minute through a stunning acrobatic effort from Mame Biram Diouf, which forced Brimah Razak into a fine save.

However, Senegal eventually leveled matters in the 58th minute, as Diouf headed into an empty after his initial header crashed onto the upright.

Ghana were struggling deal with the Senegalese and Jonathan Mensah was nearly punished for an error but Diouf somehow managed to fired wide of the target from close range in the 80th minute.

Jordan Ayew had a chance to clinch three points in the 87th minute but the forward failed to steer his header on target from six-yards out.

However, Senegal snatched the win in stoppage, as substitute Moussa Sow fired into the far corner from 12-yards to get their Afcon campaign off to a winning start.

Here's how they lined up:
