Group B saw its first win as Tunisia beat Zambia 2-1 in their Africa Cup of Nations clash on Thursday.
The Eagles of Carthage had a decent penalty shout in the third minute of the clash. The ball hit Sunzu on the hand in the Zambia area after a move from Khazri, but the referee waved away the appeals.
Kalaba caused Tunisia problems in the opening half and threatened heavily in the 34th minute as he rifled a shot on goal, but Mathlouthi was able to push the effort wide.
On the stroke of half-time, Zambia should have been one goal ahead when a the ball was set up nicely for Emmanuel Mayuka to strike from 12 yards. However, he hit air instead.
The deadlock was broken in the 59th minute. Kalaba did brilliantly to hold off two defenders before sending a cross towards Mayuka who netted the half-volley.
Tunisia were back on level terms in the 70th minute. The Eagles won the initial header at the near post following a corner and Ahmed Akaichi was on hand to direct it home.
Group B looked set for yet another 1-1 draw but Tunisia sneaked in a winner in the 89th minute to change that. Msakni hit a cross towards the near post where Yassine Chikhaoui headed home for the three valuable points.
