Orlando Pirates attacker Thembinkosi Lorch took full advantage of his first Africa Cup of Nations appearance after sending Bafana Bafana to the quarter-finals.
With Themba Zwane suspended, Lorch was handed his first start at the tournament and did not disappoint, as he netted the winning goal to help Bafana down Egypt in Cairo on Saturday.
The Buccaneers man was also named Man of the Match, but he reveals he initially thought his goal was not allowed due to the silence in the stadium.
“When I scored, I thought it was not a goal because of the silence in the stadium. Normally when you score, people celebrate but it donned into me that I had hurt the feelings of more than 80 000 people," Lorch told the media, according to SAFA's official website.
