Ajax Cape Town will be returning to training next week Tuesday, January 10th, as they prepare to continue their climb on the Absa Premiership League standings.
The Urban Warriors suffered a poor start to their campaign, but after the necessary changes was made to the team’s bench, Ajax have since turned the corner in their form.
Ajax won their first game of the season under the mentorship of the new head coach, Dutchman Stanley Menzo, and he has since guided the Cape Town-based club to five victories in the first half of the 2016/17 season.
A 1-0 victory over Chippa United in the team’s final 2016 Absa Premiership encounter, saw the Urban Warriors placed at 9th place on the Absa Premiership standings, just two points away from the top eight.
The team recently acquired the services of Mamelodi Sundowns’ Rheece Evans (on loan) and Zambian international, Rodrick Kabwe ahead of the January transfer window, and have also parted ways with foreign duo, Ali Abondo and Joaquim “Juicy” Lupeta.
It remains to be seen whether Ajax will be looking to make any more additions to their squad in the current transfer window, however, the January break will allow the team enough time to make the necessary adjustments before the second half of the 2016/17 season.
