Bidvest Wits' young striker, Zaid Patel, has penned a deal to join Cape Town All-Stars in the National First Division for the 2014/15 campaign.
The 20-year-old has failed to really break into the Clever Boys first team since emerging from their youth ranks, and has already spent time on loan previously at Mpumalanga Black Aces and Free State Stars.
The Azaadville-born forward burst on to the scene in the 2011/12 season when he scored on his senior debut for Wits against Mamelodi Sundowns, however he has since struggled for game-time for the Students.
In 2012/13 he found the back of the net twice while on loan for Aces in the NFD, before returning to Wits. He then had a short stint at Stars but never scored a goal for Ea Lla Koto.
Nonetheless, the Siya crew can confirm that All-Stars management and the player are busy concluding the deal at the moment, and the tall striker will ply his trade in South Africa’s second tier league in '14/15.
The player will undoubtedly look to get some valuable game-time under his belt as he looks to one day establish a career for himself within Mzansi’s top flight.
