One of the most feared fighters in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) history has revealed that he has received contract offers from football clubs.
Khabib Nurmagomedov, who retired from the UFC in October last year as an undefeated champion, could be looking to get into professional football after dropping a hint in a recent interview.
Speaking in a recent Facebook live Q&A, the Russian explained that he has been contacted by a number of clubs, and admitted he would be prepared to take up the sport should a good offer arrive.
"A lot of football clubs, they offer me (a contract)," he said, according to the Daily Mail.
"But I have to, a little bit, become football shape. Because football shape is a little bit different than MMA.
"When you have to fight in MMA and you have to play in football, these are two different (things). But I don't know (if I'll play professionally).
"If some clubs offer me (a deal) and they make me an interesting (offer), I'm going to accept this."
Nurmagomedov, better known by his first name Khabib, is known to be a big fan of the beautiful game, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo.
"I think both Ronaldos are my favourite, the old one from Brazil as well," he continued.
"But what Cristiano has done is amazing, in 2004 he was in the final of the Euros and in 2016 he won the Euros. He was six-time Champions League finalist, he won the Spanish League, the Italian league and the English Premier League.
"And he win five times the golden ball (Ballon d'Or), he's won a lot of things and I think Cristiano Ronaldo is the best."
After making his UFC debut in 2012, Khabib won all of the 29 fights he participated in before hanging up his gloves, and is considered by many to be the greatest in the sport's history.
