The upcoming window could be an important and busy one for many of the biggest clubs in the world, with a number of high-profile players linked with moves.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Barcelona are preparing to part ways with Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho, whose season was cut short by an injury that kept him out since December last year.

The 28-year-old, who made just 14 appearances across all competitions for the Blaugrana in the 2020/21 campaign, has reportedly been offered to his former club Liverpool in exchange for the Premier League side wavering the £40 million (R781 million) the Spanish giants are said to still owe the Reds on their purchase of the Selecao star.

Despite his exit in 2018 turning slightly ugly considering Liverpool's strained relationship with Barcelona, Coutinho is widely considered a cult hero on Merseyside for his exploits during his Anfield stay between 2013 and 2018.

The 2019 Copa America winner scored 54 goals and assisted a further 45 strikes in 201 appearances for Liverpool, while he has contributed to 37 strikes in 90 matches for Barcelona to date.

According to ESPN, City are closely monitoring Los Blancos skipper Sergio Ramos' situation at the Santiago Bernabeu and are considering a two-year contract offer for the 35-year-old, who was left out of Spain's 2020 UEFA European Championship squad.

The experienced defender's contract with the LaLiga juggernauts will expire at the end of next month, but he is not the only player believed to be on Pep Guardiola's radar. Harry Kane is said to be at the top of City's transfer shortlist, with the Daily Star reporting that Gabriel Jesus could be used as a makeweight in a deal for the England captain.

Over in Germany, Lewandowski has said he remains "open-minded" and admitted he is "always curious to learn a new language, a new culture" amid rumours he could leave Bayern in the next window.

The 32-year-old, who is the final two years of his deal with the Bundesliga champions, has been strongly linked with Chelsea, City and Paris Saint-Germain.
