Higuain joined Miami, who are currently featuring in their inaugural MLS campaign, on a free transfer after mutually terminating his deal with Serie A champions Juventus.
He became the second Juve star to join the club partly owned by Beckham after Blaise Matuidi moved to the MLS side earlier in the window.
The two new Inter Miami stars are the only players in the American league to have played in FIFA World Cup finals, and will almost certainly raise the level of the US' top flight.
However, while Higuain became the league's top earner when he joined, Matuidi is reportedly not among the 10 highest-paid stars in the MLS.
Higuain signed a two-year deal that will see him earn $8.8 million (R149 million) a year, according to the Miami Herald.
The 32-year-old earns more than what the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney and Bastian Schweinsteiger did during their recent stints in the US.
Only former United forward Javier Hernandez comes close Higuain's annual salary, pocketing $7.2 million (R122 million) with LA Galaxy – you can see the complete top 10 in the gallery above!
