ESPN recently compiled a ranking of the standout performers aged 21 or younger throughout Europe's top five league's this season as the world looks to see who could possiblily succeed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
One of the name sin the top 15 is Florian Wirtz, who is one of the most lauded young players in European football. The 18-year-old Germany international is the latest product of Bayer Leverkusen's conveyor belt of young talent, and before his catastrophic ACL injury ruled him out of the rest of this season, the playmaker had amassed an impressive 10 goals and 14 assists in all competitions.
Bukayo Saka is another youngster leading his team towards potential UEFA Champions League football next season.
The young English forward has been directly involved in 17 goals for the Gunners in the 2021/22 Premier League campaign so far. His 11 goals and six assists mean he is the second-most productive U21 player in the competition's history, after Dele Alli's 21 goal contributions in the 2016/17 EPL season.
